August 19-22, 2019 the AARC ran a short three day virtual lobby for H.R. 2508 The BREATHE Act, Better Respiration through Expanding Access to Tele-Health. We asked respiratory therapists across the nation to reach out to their respective congressional representatives. I would like to thank those who took action for the 326 Illinois emails, and 13 tweets for taking the initiative and time to do so. I expect that we will have future opportunities to solicit the support of our legislators in the House of Representatives to advance this important bill that will provide patients in underserved areas with access to respiratory therapist services through tele-health. There is strength in numbers. Next round, encourage your co- workers to join you in sending the email. Share how easy it is to use the AARC site to access individual representative contact information. For that don’t want to wait, the site remains open under the Advocacy tab.
