Title of Presentation: Mental Health, Trauma, and COVID-19
Speaker: Danielle Angileri
Bio: Danielle Angileri was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois and a University of Wisconsin alumna. She is the Executive Director of NAMI Northern Illinois. NAMI the National Alliance on Mental Illness is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Danielle currently serves on the Circles od Learning Board and many community-driven committees. In 2018, she was honored as one of Rockford Register Star’s Peoples to Watch and in 2019 the Rockford Chamber of Commerce’s 40 leaders under age 40. Similar to NAMI’s motto, Danielle lives by instilling on others “you are not alone”.

Title of Presentation: The Kendel Sherman Foundation
Speaker: Tamica Fricks
Bio: Tamica Fricks started the Kendel Sherman Foundation in 2016 after she lost her daughter in 2015 from complications caused by Asthma. Since she started the foundation, she has made it her goal to educate the Rockford Community about the dangers and triggers of asthma. She has shared this at community events, fairs, and conferences. Since the foundation started, she has added a Teen Program to her organization. She looks forward to continuing to serve the community and to continue spreading awareness to the community and all those affected from the pandemic.
Objectives:
- Educate learners about Kendel's story and her foundation
- Educate why asthma education is important in the Rockford community and elsewehere.
Speakers: Natalie Sheehan and Joey Schap
Bio:
Natalie Sheehan is a Performance Improvement Leader with Northwestern Medicine’s Performance Improvement Office. Natalie Sheehan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Healthcare Systems Engineering from Northern Illinois University and is currently pursuing an MBA emphasizing in Quality and Innovation at Park University. At Northwestern Medicine, Natalie collaborates with leaders and frontline staff to lead projects with measurable outcome metric improvements. Examples include increasing hospital throughput, decreasing wait times, and improving key quality and patient safety metrics. The proven approach to process improvement is exemplified through the work to reduce COPD readmissions at NM Kishwaukee Hospital.
Joey Schap is a Clinical Director with Northwestern Medicine’s Respiratory Care Departments at Kishwaukee and Valley West Hospitals. Joey is a graduate of the Rock Valley College Respiratory Care Program. Graduate with BS in Healthcare Leadership from National Louis University. Graduate with MHA in Healthcare Administration from National Louis University. Lead performance improvement initiative to reduce COPD readmissions resulting in a significant reduction. Improvement Day winner 2019 for COPD Readmission Work.

Title of Presentation: Prone positioning: The who, what, when, where, and how
Speaker: Andrew Klein MS, RRT, RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS, AE-C
Bio:
Adult clinical specialist at Rush University Medical Center for the last 8 years, Have been an RT for 18 years. AARC nationally recognized preceptor for the past 5 years. Distinguished CHEST educator. Have given professional lectures at the local, state, and national level.
Objectives:
Discuss indications and contraindications for prone positioning
Review literature related to prone positioning

Bio:
Heather is a representative for Methapharm. She is a BA,RRT and has given in-services on asthma and testing for asthma,.
Objectives:
Review the prevalence, economic burden and common symptoms of asthma.
Discuss when to utilize it objective testing according to current guidelines

Title of Presentation: The Value of the RT in Post-Acute Care
Speaker: Lisa Zaenger
Bio: Lisa Zaenger has been a Respiratory Therapist for 36 years. She has worked most of her career in the Post-Acute Care setting having worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home DME settings. She has been one of the AARC IL Co-Chairs for the AARC PACT and has been advocating for our patients and our RT profession for many years.
Objectives:
- Discuss the evolving roles of the RT in Post-Acute Care settings
- Discuss important legislative initiatives that can further impact RTs role(s) in Post-Acute Care settings
- Discuss the value RT’s bring in transitional care, decreasing rehospitalizations and improving patient self-management
