Seminar Objectives

  • Understand the use of inhaled nitric oxide and
    epoprostenol, determine clinical response, and
    set up delivery devices

  • Review the use of Neurally Adjusted
    Ventilatory Assist (NAVA) in the pediatric and
    adult populations and identify proper catheter

  • Identify and understand the reasons for the
    asynchrony using ventilator graphics and
    apply corrections

  • Identify various types of airways and their
    specific uses and review airway management

  • 9:00-9:50a – Kellianne Fleming and Jie Li - NAVA for Pediatric and Adult Management

  • 9:50-10:10a – BREAK

  • 10:10-11:00a — Tyler Weiss - Recognizing Ventilator Asynchrony Using Graphics

  • 11:10-12:00p — Jonathan Brady Scott - Airways and Airway Management

  • 12:00-1:30p-LUNCH—VENDOR HALL

  • 1:30 - 4:30 Interactive Workshops and Simulations

  • Using the InoMax to deliver nitric oxide and using
    a syringe pump to deliver inhaled epoprostenol

  • Proper placement of the NAVA catheter and NAVA

  • Using a lung simulator, create asynchrony,
    categorize, and manipulate the ventilator to correct

  • Using manikins, apply various airways and airway
